TAHRS

Welcome to the Texas Association of Hair Removal Specialists (TAHRS) Web Site.

We have created this website for the purpose of educating the public about permanent hair removal through electrolysis and to keep our membership informed of our activities. We hope that you will find the site user-friendly and informative.

Texas Association of Hair Removal Specialists Logo
The TAHRS was formed in 1970 for the purpose of promoting education and information among all practicing electrologists. It has evolved into a very professional organization where its members enjoy a yearly convention with renowned speakers from the fields of electrolysis, medicine, and business. We require our members to abide by our safety and sterilization standards and encourage them to obtain national certification, participate in our Continuing Education programs and to share their experience with other members.

If you are an Electrologist:
The conventions are a much anticipated part of belonging to TAHRS. We produce and publish quarterly News Bulletins with updated information from the electrolysis field, medical information, business-related news and membership changes. Our members are able to exchange ideas with electrologists from other cities and build life-long friendships among other colleagues. Another great advantage to belonging to the TAHRS is that our Board of Directors are always available to answer questions and help you grow your practice. We believe in electrolysis and want you to succeed. If you haven't become a member, or you want more information about us before joining, please feel free to call our Membership Chair, Nedra Lockhart or Pat Biecki, our 2007-2008 President.

If you are seeking hair removal services:
We encourage you to locate one of our members (see Membership Information section) to ensure that you are receiving the most qualified electrologist in your area. Our members sign a pledge to uphold our organization standards (see Membership Standards section) so that you may be comfortable with standardized safety and sterilization practices. We have incorporated a brief explanation of what electrolysis is and how it works to permanently remove unwanted superfluous hair (FAQs). When you visit one of our member electrologists she or he will take a medical history and explain the various options open to you, the possible causes or the hair growth, the approximate time involved to obtain permanency and the cost involved. Most electrologists offer this consultation at no cost. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have regarding pre-treatment and post-treatment care, sterilization methods used, training and credentials. You should feel comfortable and confident that your chosen electrologist is very well qualified and dedicated to helping you obtain permanent hair removal in the safest and most efficient manner.
